Features

Why?

The clear goal of the DLCM is to significantly improve the day-to-day academic experience for students. Finding relevant courses is made difficult by the structure of the course catalog, while existing search options are hidden and require complex prior knowledge. The standardized glossary, based on the recognized TaDiRAH taxonomy (Taxonomy of Digital Research Activities in the Humanities), makes course titles and descriptions searchable by keyword, thereby promoting interdisciplinary networking.

Implementation

An automated pipeline was created for practical implementation. In this process, the course catalog is searched as an XML file using predefined keywords, which are recognized and highlighted. The TaDiRAH taxonomy serves as the basis for providing additional glossary entries for the searchable terms.
This results in a three-part structure consisting of the user interface in Moodle, the pipeline itself as Python code and a Jupyter notebook, and the lexicon as a table and the core content.
